Unsere diesjährige Jahrestagung werden wir gemeinsam mit unseren schweizer Kollegen von der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Thermoanalyse und Kalorimetrie abhalten.
Der lokale Organisator wird Herr Prof. Dr. Guido Kickelbick, Institut für Anorganische Festkörperchemie an der Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken sein.
Das 1. Zirkular folgt im März.

Einladung zur Teilnahme an einem Ringvergleich über die Wärmeleitfähigkeit eines Blähglas-Granulates

Wir möchten Sie auf den Ringvergleich des Arbeitskreises-Thermophysik in der GEFTA zur Messung der Wärmeleitfähigkeit eines Blähglas-Granulates aufmerksam machen. Einzelheiten hierzu finden Sie im beigefügten pdf-File, ebenso die Informationen zu den Rahmenbedingungen und Zielsetzungen für Ringvergleiche des Arbeitskreises Thermophysik in der GEFTA. Anmeldeschluss für die Teilnahme an dem Ringvergleich ist der 31.01.2012.

Material: Blähglas-Granulat, Körnung 1 mm bis 2 mm, Schüttrohdichte 220 kg/m3
Gemessene Eigenschaft: Wärmeleitfähigkeit
Vorläufiges Messprogramm:

• Temperaturen: 100K, 200K, 300K, 400K, 500K, 600K, 700K, 800K
• Atmosphäre: Normalatmosphäre

Nach Bekunden der Teilnahme erhalten die Teilnehmer ein Probenanforderungsformular. Der Probenversand erfolgt nach Angaben der benötigten Mengen der Teilnehmer an dem Ringvergleich. Es liegen Einbauvorschriften für das Zweiplattengerät gemäß EN 12667 und dem Rohrprüfstand EN ISO 8497 vor. Die Durchführung erfolgt nach den Leitfaden zur Planung und Durchführung von Ringvergleichen des Arbeitskreises-Thermophysik in der GEFTA.

Vorläufiger Zeitplan:

• Februar 2012: Festlegung des verbindlichen Messprogramms und Zeitplans mit den Teilnehmern
• März 2012: Probenpräparation und Versand
• April-Juni 2012: Probenvermessung
• Juli-August 2012: Auswertung der Ergebnisse
• September 2012: Abschluss des Ringvergleichs und Bericht an die Teilnehmer

12th Lähnwitzseminar on Calorimetry - "Interplay between Nucleation, Crystallization, and the Glass Transition"

The scope of the 12th Laehnwitz Seminar on Calorimetry is planned to be again "Interplay between Nucleation, Crystallization, and the Glass Transition". We are convinced that calorimetry is, and will prove to be, an important tool for studying structure formation in a wide variety of materials.
One of the tasks of the Laehnwitz Seminar has always been to bring together scientists from different fields of calorimetry and science and to offer a platform for broad and intensive discussions, stimulating progress and further development. At this moment, we have begun the organization of the 2012 Seminar, but the introductory lectures are not yet fixed. Following the spirit of the previous Laehnwitz Seminars, we plan to have a few (maximum 14) introductory lectures of about 60 to 90 minutes in length, followed by an almost open-ended discussion. In addition, as before, poster presentations are kept up for discussion during the whole time of the seminar. It is planned to discuss the benefits and even the problems of different approaches to the study of structure formation on very different time scales (e.g., by chip calorimetry with time scale of milliseconds) or on larger samples by conventional calorimetry (with time scale up to days). In a continuation of the last Laehnwitz Seminars, we will focus on chip calorimetry and temperature modulation (DSC and AC calorimetry) but do not exclude other techniques. The organizers wish to cover the whole field of techniques which can successfully be applied to calorimetry and thermodynamics of structure formation in complex systems.

11^th Conference on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis CCTA 11

It is our great pleasure to announce the 11th Conference on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis CCTA 11 which will take place in Zakopane, Poland, from 9 to 13th September 2012. This event is a continuation of the series of meetings organized by the Polish Society of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis PTKAT.
In the framework of the CCTA 11 a one-day Polish-German Seminar on Thermal Analysis is planned to be held.
During the conference the Award Ceremony will take place for the Polish Young Scientist having the significant scientific achievements in the field of thermal analysis and calorimetry. The Polish Society of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis PTKAT, which is a sponsor of the prize, kindly invites to submit applications in accordance with the guidelines given at http://www.ptkat.agh.edu.pl/?p=Regulamin.
